Operations at our Center depend on high quality machinery and components. Here is a list of some of the equipment used to operate the Laurens County E-911 Communications Center. Interact Public Safety Systems ~~ This new networked system has combined our SE911, Geo911, CAD and RMS systems all into one. It also has our paging system and GCIC/NCIC incorporated into it. The heart of the system is our Compaq servers for each component of the system. Eventide ~~ Our recording system is among many types sold by this company. We use the VR725 Digital Voice Logger. Capable of up to 96 channels, we currently use around 25. Our unit is in a rackslide mount, but is also available in a cabinet mount. For more information see the Eventide website. Motorola ~~ Our communications are made possible with a Motorola MCC5500 System. The Motorola MCC 5500 Dispatch Console provides fully functioned dispatch capabilities for conventional radio systems. It is a part of Motorola's extensive portfolio of integrated communications and information solutions and is intended to be the heart of all communications in a small to medium sized, conventional radio system. See more about the system on the Motorola website. D.T.N. ~~ Data Transmission Network is a satellite system providing unlimited access to comprehensive weather information. Our system, located at Laurens County E-911, provides our communications professionals with information such as, Deep South radar, current US radar, South Atlantic radar, Gulf hurricane tracking, Southeast temperatures, Tropical winds and advisories, current US temperatures, Atlantic satellite map and even posters of missing children. If you or someone you know is in the need of keeping a watch on the weather, this system is for you.
